TOM Thorley has been appointed as Worcester City captain for the new season.
The 23-year-old midfielder, the club’s reigning player-of-the-year, takes the armband for tomorrow’s Skrill North curtain-raiser against Altrincham at Aggborough (3pm).
He was the leading candidate for the role following defender Stuart Whitehead’s decision to cut back on playing duties.
New centre-half signing Graham Hutchison, who had a spell on loan at Worcester from Birmingham City last season, will be vice-captain.
