CENTRAL defender Josh Gowling is expected to line-up for Kidderminster Harriers at Alfreton Town tonight (7.45) just days after breaking his nose.

The 29-year-old vice-captain sustained the injury in last Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Gateshead when he was caught by team-mate Chey Dunkley.

Gowling played through the pain barrier for the rest of the Skrill Premier opener and is likely to do so again in Derbyshire.

Manager Steve Burr, who otherwise has a fully-fit squad to pick from, said: “He took a nasty knock on the nose but he’s going to be OK.”

Gowling’s inclusion will be a relief for the club who are keen to build on their impressive start to the campaign and underline their tag as one of the promotion favourites.

Goals from Michael Gash, Callum Gittings and Dunkley secured the points at Aggborough and Burr is looking for more of the same at North Street.

The Harriers boss said: “It’s good to win games but I think the way we played was good, it was an excellent performance.

“It will be difficult away from home but I’m confident enough that if we produce that level of performance and work hard we have got a good chance of coming away with three points.”

Alfreton began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Dartford following Adam Birchall’s first-half goal and Nicky Law’s side will be looking to chalk up their first victory at Harriers’ expense.

Kidderminster made two trips to Alfreton last season, drawing 1-1 in the league and winning 3-1 in the FA Trophy.
