DROITWICH Spa remain in relegation danger in Worcestershire Cricket League Division One after a 68-run home defeat to on-song Bromyard.
Despite 57 and 4-58 from Jake Young along with Paul Bryan’s 69 not out, former Sri Lankan international Dinusha Fernando (66) and Eral Anderson (82) starred for Bromyard.
The Herefordshire club are five points behind third-placed Pershore who won by four wickets at Pedmore with Andy Robertson (54) and Brendan Adams (4-60) playing key roles.
Astwood Bank extended their lead at the top thanks to a comfortable win at faltering Worcester, while Hagley in second were well beaten at home by Belbroughton.
South African Christiaan Jordaan scored 118 not out after taking 5-75. Bank lead Hagley by 20 points.

Bewdley’s Jack Mills signalled his return to Worcestershire with five wickets and 61 runs as they forced visitors Rushwick to submit to their promotion push.
Coombs Wood beat Netherton to ease their relegation fears and the other two matches between Stourport and Feckenham and Tenbury and Enville were drawn.
Division Three leaders Lye’s lead remains a healthy 44 points over Harborne as both won against Malvern and Stourbridge Social respectively. For Lye, Mo Ishtiaq took 7-17 in 12 overs.
Third-placed Avoncroft had Craig Hughes’ 107 to thank for a winning draw with Himley, while strugglers Romsley and Himbleton both won to put more daylight between themselves and Himley. Alveley in fourth beat Ross-on-Wye.
Chaddesley Corbett’s Tanzeel Ul Rahman took five wickets but his side failed to continue their fine run, losing by eight runs to Barnards Green who stay second from bottom in Division Four but have closed on Halesowen.
Old Vigornians and Cleobury Mortimer both won to stay first and second with wins over Kidderminster Victoria and Old Hill respectively.
Bartestree and Lugwardine beat Halesowen and West Malvern also triumphed, defeating Bromsgrove who declared on 298-5 in 48 overs with 106 from Richard Hope.
However, the villagers overhauled their score in the 51st over thanks to a fine 116 from Philip Chaundy.
With three games left, OVs can seal the title if they win at Cleobury on Saturday and Chaddesley fail to beat West Malvern.
Claverley clinched the Division Five title with a win over Stourport and seem set for an unbeaten season as they now lead Martley in second, who lost at Hallow, by 111 points.
Hanley Castle and Upton are third after beating Stourbridge, two points ahead of Kempsey who beat Old Elizabethans, while Barnt Green crushed Astwood Bank.
