EVESHAM stopped the rot after two years without a victory thanks to a 53-run win over Quatt in Birmingham and District Premier League Division Three.
But the Vale side are now mathematically certain of relegation, being 130 points behind Quatt, who lie just above the relegation zone, with just 120 more at stake.
Humais Butt and Imran Ali both scored 32 as Evesham battled to 163 all out with Terry Hughes taking 5-35 for Quatt who soon collapsed to 37-6 in reply.
James Crenan (6-35) and Ali (4-52) shared the wickets as Quatt were dismissed for 110, a total that would have been much worse but for 47 from Hughes.
The last time Evesham, who have already suffered two consecutive relegations, tasted victory competitively was in August 2011.
Meanwhile, third-placed Bridgnorth romped to an eight-wicket victory over Worcester Nomads.
Richard Henry (74) and Jace O’Hara (56) batted well to take the Bransford side to 222-7 but an unbeaten 130 from James Ralph and 73 by Tom Austin saw Bridgnorth to their win with 18 overs left.
Shrewsbury’s domination of the Premier Division continues, despite being held to a winning draw at Berkswell, and they lead by 55 points.
Second-placed Brockhampton came a cropper at Walsall who recovered from 86-6 to reach 181 all out thanks to an unbeaten 57 from Jack Warren.
Mark Green (23) and Tim Maxfield (22) chipped in with valuable contributions, while David Exall (5-27) and Chris Boroughs (3-57) took the bulk of the wickets for the Herefordshire side.
At 57 without loss in reply, Brockhampton appeared to be on course for a routine victory but 4-41 from Maxfield and 4-42 from Paul Wicker saw them slip to 115-8 before they were eventually dismissed for 137 with Adam Hewlett (36) top scoring.
Alec Baker (71 not out), Alex Phillips (44) and David Smith (40) saw Knowle and Dorridge to 210-5 from 55 overs at Kidderminster Victoria, which proved too much for the hosts who were dismissed for 157. Matt Pardoe scored 36 before Michael Bevan stepped up to take 4-44.
Barnards Green retained an outside chance of promotion from Division One.
Dorridge went down to a 59-run defeat to the Malvern side who were dismissed for 213 after Andy Ford hit 70 and Alex Milton added 55.
Matt McGillivray took 4-37 for Dorridge who slumped to 154 all out with Jonathan Dovey snapping up 5-23. Valeed Butt’s 50 was to no avail.
Ombersley climbed out of the relegation zone with a six-wicket success at Bromsgrove who had cruised to 118-1 from 18 overs thanks to 73 from Worcestershire’s Alexei Kervezee and 61 from Ash Newdick.
But spinners Brett D’Oliveira (5-39) and Neil Slade (4-58) combined to dismiss the hosts for 163.
Youngsters Nick Hammond (36no), Freddie Wynn (32no) and the returning Duncan Catterall (33) eased Ombersley to a vital victory which means Bromsgrove, in sixth place, are dragged into trouble.
While second-placed Stourbridge and Old Elizabethans in third were crashing to defeat against mid-table Eastnor and Water Orton, Division Two leaders Oswestry enjoyed a five-wicket win over Attock.
Matt Bradley took 3-19 for Stourbridge against Eastnor which included a hat-trick to reduce the home side to 39-3 before Clive Chadhani (39) and Shahid Ahmed (37) saw them to 139 all out.
James Wood (4-37) and Audy Alexander (3-38) did the rest of the damage for Stourbridge who then slumped from 80-2 to 108 all out with Shahid taking 4-29.
When Water Orton were dismissed for 105, OEs looked set to move back into the second promotion place but veteran seamer Lesroy Irish had other ideas, taking 6-28 as the Worcester hosts crumbled to 86 all out.
