TICKETS have gone on sale for the 2013 Netball Superleague Showdown Grand Final, which will take place at the new University of Worcester Arena this month.
The major event, on Saturday, May 25 (7pm), will be shown live on Sky Sports and will also be simultaneously broadcast live on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra.
The University of Worcester Arena is a purpose-built 2,000-seater complex, which will provide a central venue for many sports, including netball, basketball and badminton.
Mick Donovan, head of the University’s Institute of Sport and Exercise Science, said: “Within our vision for the University Arena, netball has always been one of our focus sports and we are delighted that the first showcase event will be such a prestigious national event.
“We look forward to welcoming netball fans to our city and university.”
England Netball performance competitions manager Mike Watson, said: “The 2013 season has been incredibly exciting, with unpredictable results cropping up in every round.
“As the tension builds towards the Grand Final, all netball supporters will be heading to Worcester to see the best netball this country has to offer.
“We have made the decision to reward those teams finishing at the top of the Showdown League with a home semi-final game, so this year Showdown will focus solely on the challenge to see just who is the country’s best netball team in 2013.”
