MANAGER Steve Burr believes Kidderminster Harriers’ play-off bid will not be affected by missing out on the Blue Square Bet Premier title.

Despite thrashing Stockport County 4-0 at Aggborough last Saturday, Harriers had to settle for second place in the table following Mansfield’s 1-0 victory over Wrexham.

They now face the Dragons, who finished fifth, at the Racecourse Ground tonight in the first leg of the play-off semi-final (7.45), with the return on Sunday.

Having enjoyed a stunning run to push Mansfield all the way, including winning five games on the spin, Burr feels they have nothing to fear against Wrexham, who they have beaten twice this term.

The Kidderminster boss said: “We couldn’t have done any more on Saturday. Obviously things that happened elsewhere were out of our control and we could only do what we could do.

“What it does do is put us in good heart for tonight with the type of form we’re in and we’ll look forward to Wrexham.

“We will just go there like we have done all season and try and win. That’s all we can do and we don’t know any other way here and tonight will be no different.

“We know what’s ahead of us and what we’ve got to do but it is going to be tough.”

Danny Pilkington missed the Stockport game following his return to light training after a groin injury but the winger could be in contention for the play-offs.
