HEREFORD United have reduced next season’s ticket prices in a bid to attract more fans to Edgar Street.

The Bulls have knocked £4 off adult terrace admission to make it £12 and lowered the price of a seat by £1 to £17 for the 2013-14 campaign.

The price of an adult season ticket on the terraces has also been cut from £260 to £200 or from £175 to £145 for concessions.

Seated season ticket prices remain largely the same across the board but there are early-bird discounts in all categories.

Youngsters are being encouraged to get behind Martin Foyle’s team with prices of £5 to sit and £3 to stand per game.

Chairman David Keyte said: “The prices have been slashed in most areas, particularly on the terracing.

“We thought it was right to get a bigger differential between the seating and the terracing.

“We gave it a bit of thought. The older supporters, who have been so loyal to us over many years, are the ones who are taking their seats each season.

“We’re not by any means taking them for granted, it’s just now we have to attract the younger generation, who are not coming out, on to the terraces.

“As a club, we need 2,000 or even 2,500 each game and these things are interlinked.

“A deserted stadium does not help the players, but a good group of fans giving positive vocal support can help to make this a successful club.”

Meanwhile, former Bristol City forward Peter Beadle has joined Hereford as director of youth football.
