WORCESTER City manager Carl Heeley felt defeat was tough on his side following their latest setback at Corby.
Gary King’s controversial third-minute penalty decided the Steel Park fixture when City had chances to end their barren run.
Heeley said: “We’ve done well and didn’t deserve to get beaten. It’s sad when you’re beaten by an official and a poor decision.
“The penalty was laughable. There was a slight tug on the player but it was two yards outside the box, he continued running and then dived into the box and the referee gave a penalty.
“When you’re down on your luck that’s what happens but it’s no good whinging about the poor officials.
“There weren’t many chances in the game but, that said, we had one or two opportunities. Michael Taylor is disappointed he hasn’t scored but I think you have to give the keeper a bit of credit. Michael couldn’t have done anymore, he hit the target and it was a great save.
“The positives are we created chances but we aren’t getting what we deserve at times.”
The Worcester boss added: “Football can be cruel and, however you look at it, luck is going against us.
“I don’t know what we’ve done to deserve it all to go against us but it is and we’ve got to keep battling through.
“We need some characters and people to step up to the plate and show some spirit.
“It feels like the world’s against us but we need to get something out of adversity.”
