WORCESTER Wolves have a 13th successive British Bask-etball League home victory in their sights against Man-chester Giants tonight (7pm).
Although Leicester Riders triumphed at the University of Worcester in the BBL Trophy earlier this month, Paul James’ side have not lost on their own court in the league since the opening day of the season.
It is a remarkable record which has underpinned their qualification for next mon-th’s play-offs.
Tonight’s match, rearran-ged because of their Trophy semi-final against the Riders, is also the first of three home games in a row. Newcastle Eagles visit on Tuesday and Plymouth Raiders come to town next Friday.
James said: “I guess we’re a victim of our own success in the fact that getting through to the semi-finals of the Trophy meant we had to cancel a couple of games and rearrange them. But that’s a nice problem to have.
“As long as we’re winning, keep the games coming. I think we’re in pretty good shape now and the guys are playing with a lot of confidence.
“There’s a great belief about the team in what individuals can do and we’ve got players who can be match winners.”
The director of basketball, whose side were due to travel to Sheffield Sharks last night, added: “Our home form has been really good and the fact that the fans have come out and got behind us has got a lot to do with it. We love playing in front of our own supporters.”
