KIDDERMINSTER Harriers will be checking on the fitness of three key players ahead of tonight’s clash at Blue Square Bet Premier promotion rivals Newport County (7.45).
Striker Anthony Malbon (ankle), who has scored nine goals in nine games, and midfielder Danny Jackman both sustained knocks in last Saturday’s 4-1 thrashing of Tamworth, while left-back Mickey Demetriou has a virus.
All three will be assessed ahead of kick-off at Rodney Parade as Harriers go in search of a third successive victory.
Steve Burr’s side are five points clear of fourth-placed Newport but, with the Exiles having four games in hand following the weekend postponement against Macclesfield, Harriers are keen to widen the margin.
The Kidderminster manager said: “It’s a big game and we know how tough it’s going to be. With them having games in hand it’s important that we win.”
- Hereford United will be looking to build on last Saturday’s 2-1 win against Barrow when they take on Gateshead tonight (7.45).
