WORCESTER Warriors fly-half Joe Carlisle is understood to have been charged with drink driving following a crash outside Sixways Stadium on Thursday morning.
Police said a man was arrested after an incident at around 7.30am on Thursday morning.
“There was an incident at Sixways and a man in his 20s from Cheltenham was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol following an RTC (road traffic collision)," said the police spokesman.
“He was arrested, taken into custoday and charged. He is now due to appear at Worcester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 26.”
Sixways academy graduate Carlisle, 25, will be leaving Worcester at the end of this season after eight years with the club, having signed for Warriors’ Aviva Premiership rivals Wasps.
