THE LV= Cup final takes place tomorrow at Sixways (3pm) as Sale Sharks and Harlequins battle it out for the first piece of silverware this season.
Sale's Aviva Premiership campaign has seen them languish at the bottom of the table for most of the season, but the Sharks have won five of their last seven games in all competitions.
The Sharks have not lost a major final since Newcastle Falcons beat them 37-33 in the 2004 Powergen Cup final, but they have lost on their last three visits to Sixways since beating Worcester Warriors there 37-20 in the Premiership in January 2009.
Harlequins, unbeaten in the LV= Cup this season, have won the last six meetings between the two clubs in all competitions and have been victorious in their last five finals appearances – a record dating back to 2001.
