KIDDERMINSTER Harriers face the toughest test of their season to date when they lock horns with title rivals Grimsby Town tomorrow (3pm).

Just one point splits the teams near the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier table going into the clash at Blundell Park.

But second-placed Harriers have played three games more than the Mariners in fifth and will want to stop Grimsby overtaking them in the table.

Steve Burr’s side also seek an immediate return to form having lost for the first time in eight matches on Tuesday – 2-0 at Gateshead.

The Harriers manager said: “This is, without a doubt, going to be our toughest test of the season. It’s a big challenge for us but that’s what you want at this stage.

“We’re going to need everybody playing at their best, it’s going to have to be at least eight out of 10 scores. Grimsby are a top side but we’ll be going there trying to win the match.”

On-loan Cambridge United striker Michael Gash could make his full Harriers debut after replacing Greg Pearson at Gateshead.

Pearson is not allowed to play tomorrow under the terms of his loan from Grimsby which runs until the end of the season. Burr, however, may look to freshen up his side following the mid-week loss which was only their second in the league since the turn of the year.

He added: “We’ve played a lot of games of late and I think one or two looked like they were feeling that, so we might make some changes.”
