WARRIORS back-rower Richard de Carpentier has been drafted into the England squad for this month’s Cathay Pacific HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.
The 22-year-old former Leicester Tigers forward returns to the fold nearly two years after featuring at Murrayfield at the end of the 2010-11 campaign.
De Carpentier is a product of the Fylde club and former England Students captain, who moved to Sixways at the end of last year.
England head coach Ben Ryan, who is looking to build on last month’s dramatic victory at the Wellington Sevens, said: “Our thanks go to Worcester for letting Richard train and play with us, which will continue his development as a player.
“He brings extra physicality to our squad andhe is a talented back row players with good aerial skills, which means we have a strong core of forwards available to us.”
