MANAGER Carl Heeley said he felt like Worcester City had been ‘mugged’ following their 1-0 home defeat to Guiseley.

James Walshaw’s strike three minutes from time proved decisive as City lost for the third game running to leave them still without a win at St George’s Lane in 2013.

Heeley said: “Guiseley are a good side and they’ve not failed to make the play-offs since they’ve been in the league but there was nothing to choose between the sides and we’ve been mugged again.

“We had the better chances, certainly in the second-half, but our opportunities have gone a couple of inches one side of the post and theirs has gone inside the post late on.

“I just feel a bit sorry for the boys because they didn’t deserve to get beaten and I think if you asked Guiseley’s management team they’d say the same.

“If any team deserved to win it was us but that’s the way it goes when things are going against you.”

Heeley was also angered at the match officials after he tried to make a substitution just seconds before Guiseley scored.

The City boss explained: “There was a throw-in right outside the dugout and I had Matt Breeze ready to go on at right-back because Tyler Weir’s legs had gone.

“But they allowed the throw-in to go after I had asked at least two or three times.”
