A WOMAN remains in a critical condition after being stabbed multiple times along the riverside in Worcester.
The woman was attacked in Kleve Walk in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
There is currently a police cordon in place along the riverside between Copenhagen Street car park and Diglis Parade.
Police were called shortly after 2am, and officers immediately responded.
They arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.
A 72-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after she suffered multiple stab wounds.

A cordon remains in place in Kleve Walk as police carry out enquiries.
Patrols have been increased in the area to offer reassurance to people who have spoken of their shock.
Superintendent Rebecca Love said: “We understand the concerning nature of this incident and have officers in the area both to carry out enquiries and offer reassurance to the local community.
“Officers responded to the incident very quickly and apprehended a man.
"He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody.
"Our enquiries are on-going, and we are treating this as an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the wider public.
“We are aware this location is extremely popular and want people to be able to visit it and feel safe.
"Therefore you will see an increase in police presence but I can reassure you there is no ongoing risk to the public.”
