THE halcyon days of the 1960s were alive and kicking when music fans dusted off their dancing shoes for one night only.
During the Sixties the Chateau Impney Hotel in Droitwich was famed for it all-dayers during the heyday of the Imp Cellar Club, which was one of the first venues in the Midlands to feature Northern Soul nights.
A line-up of top DJs, including Russ Winstanley, Chris King and Clive Jones ensured the records were kept spinning and the dancefloor in the Royal Suite was never empty as Northern Soul made a welcome return for an all-day extravaganza on Sunday, March 16.
The event, which ran from 3pm to 11pm, also included a record and merchandise fair, featuring both recent and rare items, with all the proceeds going towards the work of St Richard's Hospice.
