PEOPLE at an event near Ledbury gave a man CPR after he suffered a cardiac arrest before he was airlifted to hospital.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the campsite of the Land Rover Festival in Deer Park within the grounds of Eastnor Castle near Ledbury shortly before 9am on Monday, August 26.
An ambulance, a responder paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham together with a responder paramedic from South Western Ambulance Service attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived on scene to find a man in cardiac arrest being given CPR by bystanders.
"Crews took over resuscitation efforts and continued CPR as well as shocking the man’s heart several times with a defibrillator. After four shocks, the man’s heart restarted and he began to breathe on scene.
“Crews stabilised the man’s condition and administered life-saving drugs and oxygen before he was airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where medics were awaiting his arrival.”
