THE launch of a new support programme could make it easier for Tenbury businesses to go green.
Resource Efficient Worcestershire aims to help the business sector, particularly the manufacturing and construction sectors, reduce the costs of energy, waste, water and raw materials, and improve profitability.
To be eligible for an assessment, the company must be located in and trading from Worcestershire, employ fewer than 250 people and have a turnover of less than 50 million euros.
Cassie Bray, head of business engagement at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Many small and medium- sized enterprises are keen to focus on resource efficiency and acknowledge that they could make savings.
“This project will provide companies with focused solutions that could generate significant cost savings, having a positive impact on the profitability of businesses across the county.”
The programme was officially launched at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Expo last month by Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce through Worcestershire.Business.Central.
Funding is available until March 2015 and grants can cover the installation of energy efficient equipment such as heating, insulation and lighting, in addition to supporting water saving measures and programmes for better use of waste and recycling.
