A WILDLIFE charity is inviting families to join an Easter egg-stravaganza.

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is opening its headquarters at Lower Smite Farm for family activities including pond dipping, egg trail, nest building, face painting and much more on Sunday, March 24.

Neighbouring farmer, Terry Hill, will also be providing the opportunity for visitors to meet new-born lambs.

Debs Richardson Bull, education officer for the trust, said: “Visitors to our spring event usually spend all afternoon with us and are always entertained and delighted by the range of activities for the young and the not so young.

“The highlight for many is getting to meet new-born lambs but we’ve got plenty of other things to keep everyone amused. Families can follow our egg-themed trail to uncover fascinating wildlife facts before getting a chance of going egg hunting.

“There’s also the opportunity to meet a Tudor farmer to find out what he would be eating at the start of spring.

Caroline Corsie, grasslands and agriculture officer for the trust, will run a worm survey walk – giving participants the chance to see some of the wider farm and the opportunity to discover what lives in our soil.

Lower Smite Farm is situated off the A4538 between Sixways and Droitwich. The event takes place between 1pm and 4pm and costs £3 for adults and £1.50 for children. All money raised will go directly towards the conservation work of the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.
