Sir – During President [Barack] Obama’s election campaign visit to London he condescendingly pontificated about an “essential relationship” between Britain and America.
How true that is. Without British ‘aid’ money and other finance from the UK, the American global empire would be far less powerful.
British politicians who siphon off our public money in aid and support IMF loans to the EU and countries such as Pakistan, India and Israel are ensuring that American influence is paramount, and that the elite in those countries have the money to buy American armaments while our economy goes to the wall.
How do countries such as Pakistan, Greece and Israel earn their way in the world and finance their armies?
Do they worry about their national credit rating or get lectured by the IMF I wonder, or face cutbacks like we are now?
The world is in the grip of the most audacious, longstanding fraud ever perpetrated, and we suckers in Britain seem oblivious to it and to what WC Fields meant by the phrase “never give a sucker an even break”.
That’s the real spirit of the essential relationship. Isn’t it about time we woke up and gave ourselves a break?
