Sir – About a year ago I suggested it would be very interesting to receive an ‘annual audit’ of our MPs’ activities.
These would include: 1 Number of days in Parliament and amount of time spent there.
2 Speeches made and what topics.
3 The days/night spent in the constituency.
4 The amount of face-to-face encounters in surgeries (as opposed to correspondence fielded by someone else).
It would provide constituents with an opportunity to see the amount of work required by our parliamentarians and also the MP could show how his work is constructed.
This appeared to be well received at the time.
So I am now looking forward to the report.
