SIR – Richard Bird in his letter (Worcester News, May 26) said that no one came into the Guildhall in Worcester anymore.
I would like to challenge him on this.
The building is open to the public and many people do come in and look around this beautiful building.
Worcester City Council has frozen for another year the charges for booking rooms within the Guildhall and the number of events being booked has been maintained.
It should not be forgotten how successful the music nights have been which have been recently introduced.
There was also recently one weekend where apart from the usual Saturday morning record stall there were four other events going on in and around the building.
I wonder if Mr Bird has been into the recently re furbished tourist information centre at the side of the Guildhall.
It is a real showcase for local products, a real boost for the high street and a boost for the local economy.
