SIR – Although I’m not a Labour supporter I like to see things reported fairly with the true facts put forward.
This Tory-led coalition Government and many of its blinkered supporters have blamed Labour for the debt that the country finds itself in.
Let’s look at the real reasons how this debt occurred.
We all remember that there was a worldwide recession, followed by the banks’ problems.
Labour ploughed billions and billions of pounds into the banks to stop them going under.
If they had not and the banks had collapsed, what then would have happened to everyone’s assets?
I will tell you; people would have lost everything.
Labour should be congratulated for saving them.
These are the true facts and we owe the party a big thank you.
