SIR – Stanley Parr (Worcester News, May 19) suggests we need an accountant at Westminster but people who explore the activities of our honourable members too vigorously seem to get the sack.
Have you ever seen a full set of accounts for Westminster or for the spending of HM Government or the European Union?
Of course not. That would be far too transparent.
It always amuses me when the media lecture us about being cautious consumers and buying with care.
Well, how many of us would ‘buy’ the ruinously expensive policies imposed on us by our Westminster Government if we had any real democratic choice?
No, Mr Parr, we don’t need an accountant at Westminster. We need the Fraud Squad and a national media with the guts to expose the truth.
