SIR – I have been watching Worcestershire county cricket team for more than 35 years now through all the highs and lows – and there have been many of both.

Like many supporters I have gone along with director of cricket Steve Rhodes and his faith in the younger players and the more experienced imports, but the time has now come for a change.

It pains me to say this but the county needs a sort-out from top to bottom.

Something has gone wrong – from the high cost of food and drink (not always to the highest standard) to the inept performance of most of the team in the heavy defeat against Durham in the county championship last week.

If things don’t improve the county will not get bums on seats and without bums on seats you can forget about the executive suite, the high cost of the marquee and drinks in the committee room because the cricket club will end.

Please, I hope this does not happen.
