SIR – I see that Ofgem [the office of the gas and electricity markets] is getting the blame for the lack of trust in the big six energy companies.

But I think the companies have done that themselves by pushing up their prices well above their profit margin but never seeming to bring them down when the price of gas and oil goes down.

They send out bills which no one can understand with several different tariffs. I think they should have one tariff to suit everyone.

The big six have got it so cosy between themselves – it’s not really a market.

The Government should allow more companies such as the big supermarkets to enter the energy market then we would have proper competition.

As it stands now, Ofgem lets them get away with it, so I say get rid of Ofgem.
