SIR – I don’t really understand what our Chancellor George Osborne is thinking these days – making drastic cuts on the one hand yet still giving shed-loads of money away to foreign nations, who are better off than us.
The media have been highlighting how the cuts will affect us and vulnerable sections of society will suffer more than others.
The Government is cutting funding to bus services, day care centres, libraries and even home care services. This is both cruel and unnecessary.
The Tories talk of desperately trying to save £4 million here and £12 million there – over four years admittedly – so how can he possibly justify giving £650 million to Pakistan, when recent reports say only a third of it reaches the intended recipients?
We need an accountant in Westminster.
