SIR – What on earth was the planning department thinking when they agreed the design of the new library currently under construction in Worcester near to our beautiful river Severn?
Having been to Worcester racecourse over the past couple of weeks I have noticed what I can only describe as an eyesore that looks like the inside wrapper of a bar of galaxy chocolate, blocking the beautiful view of St Andrew’s Spire and Worcester Cathedral.
Do the planners really think that a goldcoloured rooftop is going to look as appealing in years to come as they obviously think it looks now?
A notion I assume they took when they agreed the design of the main building of Worcester College of Technology all those years ago.
Perhaps the planners should come down to the grandstand at Pitchcroft and view the spoils of their labour before they make any more bad decisions in our beautiful city.
