SIR – We got back home on Saturday after spending nine days in North Wales.
No potholes and excellent roads – driving was a pleasure.
But should we be surprised? The Barnett formula allows Wales 18 per cent more than England for their public services, while Scotland receives 24 per cent more and Northern Ireland a massive 41 per cent.
Joel Barnett – now Lord Barnett – has said himself that such inequalities are inadmissible.
