SIR – From recent experience it seems that if you have a problem with the police in Worcester, there is little point in writing to Chief Constable Paul West.

In my opinion the letters are either intercepted by the lower ranks, or he cannot be bothered to reply in person to you.

But don’t worry, he will be retiring later on in the year and, who knows, his replacement may look forward to hearing what the general public thinks and be glad of the input.
