SIR – I would like to pick up on a point in Roger McGee’s letter about the 32 bus service.
He states that the bus is almost inevitably late.
Is he going by the timetable at the bus stops?
If he is, does he not realise that all of these are at worst fictional or, at best, worked out by someone who does not use the buses.
For instance, the number 30 going to Dines Green is allowed 10 minutes for the whole journey.
It is not just traffic that delays the buses, it is passengers, too, such as free pass users using delaying tactics at 09:28 by arguing with the driver in the hope the clock will turn to 09:30 and they can get on free and pushchair users taking forever to fold down a pushchair.
And as for the attitude of the bus drivers to the passengers, what about the attitude of passengers, young and old alike?
I rarely hear a passenger thank the driver when they get off.
