SIR – It was good to read that John Phillpott had the same feelings as me that governments had let down British industry.
Fortunately, the green shoots are appearing.
We all know how Japan, China and India have invested in the motor industry.
This just shows they must have faith in the British worker.
The once dead motorcycle industry is now flourishing in Triumph and Norton.
What is more, they are British owned and made using British parts.
