SIR – I see that the MP for the Wyre Forest, Mark Garnier, thinks that when the land managed by the Forestry Commission on the behalf of the people of England is sold off we won’t notice any difference. You mean in the same way that when Mrs Thatcher sold the railways, water boards, gas, electricity etc that we didn’t notice “any difference”.
Come out of cloud cuckoo land. We are rapidly going back to the Middle Ages when the country landowners ran the country.
Come to think of it, maybe we are already there.
