SIR – Many years ago, I was told of the dangers of making statements using such words as ‘never’ and ‘always’.
I was reminded of this advice when reading Richard Boorn’s letter (Worcester News, January 29) in which he refers to NHS reforms, and makes this pronouncement: “All suspected cancer cases are seen by a specialist within two weeks”.
This is not true. In pointing this out I am not criticising the NHS or the Government’s reforms, but advising Richard Boorn that sweeping statements are potentially dangerous, and I am left wondering about the accuracy of his other statements.
