SIR - During my walks around the Arboretum ward I am always impressed at this time of the year by the wonderful displays in gardens and windows. It creates a feeling of community, pride and pleasure in where you live. Unfortunately, this is marred by the occasional property that has not bothered with accumulated rubbish and junk left lying everywhere. This is both an eyesore and a health risk. I have tried to ensure that when I see any of these households I try to get them cleared. I would be most grateful if residents in the Arboretum ward could contact me whenever they come across properties that for whatever reason are becoming rubbish tips and I can then act on this information to get the property tidied.
COUNCILLOR RICHARD BIRD,
Arboretum Ward,
