SIR - There seems to be some controversy as to whether measures taken to strengthen security are violations of freedom and, indeed, the legality of such steps to improve public safety, is questioned.
There are far too many clever lawyers who seek to prove that proposals designed to restrain anti-social elements are unlawful.
The fact is security must always have priority because, without security, there is no true freedom
