SIR - It was indeed reassuring to learn from your correspondent Paul Saunders (Letters, July 10) that Olympic-size swimming pools are no part of the plans for a new Christopher Whitehead School. One would hardly expect such a notion to find favour with the dissidents of St John's, particularly when the school already has recreational facilities within the Severn flood plain and subject to periodic flooding.
JOHN HINTON,
Worcester.
