SIR - With reference to the letter from Brian Hunt, can I make it clear to readers and particularly the older people of Worcestershire that although the Evesham pensioners group is a member of the Worcestershire Partnership of Forums, Brian Hunt is not representing the views of the partnership of forums, which is a non-political group.

All forums within Worcestershire are aware of the issues that face all service users not just older people. However, the partnership of forums is about working in partnership with all authorities at all levels to help to make changes. Can I suggest that he looks again at the terms of reference for our partnership? He was part of the meeting that accepted the terms which include "non-political."

The NPC has not accepted "partnership" working when offered to them at national level, preferring, I assume, to carry on waving banners and shouting loudly. Better Government For Older People and many Help The Aged forums are working away successfully and achieving change through engagement with Government departments by working in partnership, including our very successful work with Worcestershire County Council and other local authorities. He is, in many cases, misleading people and scare mongering among those most vulnerable people. Anyone who has worries about health and social care or any other issues that affect older people should contact the partnership of forums through the Older People's Involvement Unit, Worcestershire County Council.

EVE FREER,

Deputy leader Worcestershire Partnership of Older People's Forums,

Vice-chairman West Midlands Older People's Advisory Group,

Chairman Droitwich Spa Area Forum for Older People.
