SIR - I am a very elderly pensioner. When we first married my husband worked in the shoe factory till war came. He played for Cinderella team for many years. Cricket and football on Saturdays I was one of the ladies who provided lovely teas in the summer in the Pavillion. Very happy days. Many years later we had a son who also grew up and played cricket following his dad. I am a widow now sadly, but when I saw the photograph in the paper and your request I felt I must write to you, such wonderful memories!
It would be such a shame to destroy this listed building, where so many people enjoyed what was going on. There used to be some lovely photographs of players there. i wonder what happened to them?
