SIR - I am sure that the College of Art and design does a good job with its teaching.
However, does the front of the building with its overgrown garden area and general air of "no one cares" create the right feeling for community art to the students? Anyone like myself that remembers the manicured trees and pristine lawns during the time it was the Girls' Grammar School and afterwards Bishop Perowne will lament the loss of this visual amenity that gave young people the right attitude that it is important to care about your community and others.
