SIR - I read with dismay and deep concern the article headlined `Worship in School Just Isn't Practical' (Worcester News, June 19) recording the response by a senior Worcester school teacher to the Director of Education for the Worcester Diocese.
I fully agree with the Rev David Morphy that collective worship prepares pupils for adult life with its moral and anti-social problems of the present day.
It cannot be understood why David Thompson, deputy head of Christopher Whitehead Language College should say space cannot be found to meet with all students at one time.
Surely the assembly could be divided among other rooms with worship conducted by a number of staff who would welcome the opportunity?
To state lessons would be disrupted together with other aspects of school life is considered untrue. Is this said of sports, physical educationdrama and so on? Having received the strength and determination to learn diligently and behave well, I give thanks for those daily periods of worship which have fitted me for a happy and fulfilling life in this world ever since my school days.
