SIR – I was interested to read in the Worcester News (November 30) that some speeds are to be reviewed.
As the article points out, speed limits are set for a reason and I find it responsible to observe them never mind how irksome.
The high street in Upton has a 30mph speed limit but I never drive down it in any gear higher than third and tend to keep to less than 30mph in case people, children and dogs step out.
The visibility is variable depending on the time of day, amount of vehicles and weather. Also, to avoid boredom and improve self-discipline, I tend to decelerate and change down the gears when a 30mph sign is expected without the need to apply the brake.
