SIR – Our local authorities must not be allowed to continue with their plans to pave over large parts of our countryside.
The plans are nothing to do with local needs, simply the result of Labour’s failed immigration policies and willingness to let the national population increase to 70 million.
On a national level, we have a very unpopular government which appears to be on its way out.
On a local level, we have a local authority which has made a complete mess of developing Worcester and is barely able to provide services for the population who are already here.
Not surprising, perhaps, given that they have to pay expensive consultants to help them make necessary savings.
Given that we are heading towards a probable change in government and that our local authorities are unable to deal with the population already here, surely they should save the money being spent on planning to wreck our countryside, scrap the building plans and leave our countryside space alone.
I do wonder why the Greens and the Lib Dems, who claim to support the environment, are so happy to allow unchecked immigration with the resultant pressure on our green spaces.
