SIR – I would like to say how lucky Jill Whiting was to get her purse back after leaving it on the bus (Worcester News, November 10).
Two years ago I did the same. Unlike Jill I wasn’t so lucky. A young girl picked up my purse, took it to the driver, said she knew me and he let her off the bus with it. It was my payday and had a payslip, car keys and money in it.
I never saw my purse again, although I got the impression the police knew who the girl was. A few weeks later my car was stolen and, although it was later found, things were taken and quite a bit of damage was done.
All this happened through the dishonesty of the girl and the bus driver breaking the rules.
Lucky Jill to have an honest person and sensible driver.
