SIR – ‘Worcestershire County Council predicts its revenue budget may be reduced by 85 per cent of current levels over the three years from 2011 to 2014 which would leave the authority with around £45 million less to spend’.
Their solution? Set up a new initiative called BOLD to devise economies. One would have thought they would be doing this anyway.
What is BOLD’s first bright idea? Set up new quangoettes named Worcestershire Enhanced Two-Tier and Total Place.
No doubt they will also have meetings to report on these. And continue to employ a posh firm of accountants called Deloitte to report on the reporting meetings.
