SIR – Remembrance of the fallen of two wars and a generation of boys that are falling. Now that should never be.

We are back to the Dark Ages with no equipment and little training.

The unknown looks like a great adventure but to be brought home in coffins a few weeks after being sent out with the belief of fighting for Queen and country is a complete waste of our young men and women.

All very exciting, but where does it end? There is no talk of armistice, of ceasefire, or trying to find a solution. No. It’s just more troops and more troops. England should not be involved in this. Other countries are keeping well clear. Perhaps they know something we don’t.
