SIR – November 11, 1918, marked the end of the war – peace.
The war which had cost hundreds of thousands of lives also left many thousands hurt, wounded and disabled.
Peace was to prove elusive and hard to find.
Since that time, our armed forces have been engaged in so many conflicts and in so many areas in a search for that peace.
Today they are still continuing the fight with the consequence of further loss of life, hurt, wounded and disabled.
The Royal British Legion does wonderful work in an attempt to repay the debt we all owe to our armed forces.
Now is our opportunity to contribute. Please help them continue their work. Pay your debt and buy a poppy. Wear it with pride and in gratitude.
