SIR – “From Farm to Fork” – What a great idea! When petrol prices get ridiculously high in the not too distant future, we will need as many local farms as possible.
Right now, most food is trucked along motorways by huge fleets, to depots across the country, then back again to the supermarket. There’s about 10 calories burned to get one calorie of food on your fork.
Farm to Fork is a good way of keeping farms in business so they’ll be there when we need them. How about we get local farmer’s markets in Worcester every week?
