SIR – I have just returned to New Zealand after a brief visit to England, where I was based in Worcester. I am writing to say what a rewarding experience Worcester was. I found the city ideally placed for visiting the surrounding pretty towns, villages and countryside.

Transport was excellent, as was the accommodation, and there was a vast choice of cuisine. People were friendly and helpful, especially when I got lost in St John’s on the odd occasion. My compliments to Worcester and its residents.
